Tulum participates in “México en el corazón de México” Tourism Fair
TULUM, MX.- The destination continues to position itself, as beach destination, archaeological site, “Magic Town” and a place full of traditions, customs and its own language: Maya.
“México en el corazón de México” was organized by the government of Mexico City to give the opportunity to bring together the 32 Mexican states with their tourist attractions, cuisine and crafts.
Claudio Cortez Méndez, director of Tourism, said that municipal president, Romi Dzul Caamal, welcomed this invitation, so people in the nation’s capital can ask and inquire directly about Tulum, and this could trigger a larger number of visitors and generate more resources for the local economy.
“The fair was installed in Mexico City’s Zócalo Capitalino from February 17 to 25 and was open to the public.” Cortez Mendez explained that he, his staff and the artisan Adriana May, spoke to a total of 7 thousand people during the event.
“In two days (Thursday and Friday), our expectations were exceeded by far, as literally thousands of people wanted to know about Tulum,” he explained.
Among the most frequent questions of the interested parties were: where to stay, what activities are there to do, parks to visit, how to get there, meals, accommodations price, among others.
To give it a colorful appearance, the stand featured textiles and honey, the latter was well received by the people of Mexico City.
