EDF is one of the world’s largest environmental organizations, with more than two million members and a staff of 550 scientists, economists, policy experts, and other professionals around the world.

Activist and Content Manager Heather Shelby spreads the word on actions against the tremendous global warming political crisis we are currently living.

President Trump has announced that America will abandon its allies and back out of the most groundbreaking international climate agreement in history. This move puts America last, and will have disastrous consequences for our country.

It undermines our place on the world stage, puts the health of Americans at risk as we breathe dirtier air, and jeopardizes homegrown manufacturing jobs spurred by the clean energy economy in parts of our country left behind by globalization—all while dialing up the disastrous ramifications of climate change.

With a presidential administration that’s gambling with our future, we need Congress to stop hiding in the back seat and step up to fulfill their responsibilities. Take action today, and tell your elected officials that it’s time to act on climate.

While we shirk our duties as one of the world’s largest emitters, the rest of the world is stepping up. China, the EU, and Canada are now poised to lead the world on climate action—while we fall behind.

And we know there can be momentum on this in Congress—when we fight for it. The first vote that the Trump Administration lost in either Chamber of Congress was a Senate vote attempting to roll back limits on climate pollution, thanks largely to the tireless work of EDF supporters who sent over 100,000 messages and drove 3,000 calls to Senate offices.

Now, it’s time to work to ensure Congress doesn’t just block attacks—but moves us forward. Because we know we can’t count on the President to do the same.

Take action today, and tell Congress: It’s time to put America first and take the climate crisis seriously—before it’s too late.
