Thirteenth edition of “El Cruce” will take place on May 26 and 27
The traditional open water crossing “El Cruce 2018” (from Cancun to Isla Mujeres) will take place on Saturday, May 26 and Sunday 27 with the participation of approximately 1,400 swimmers from different states of Mexico and other countries around the world.
The director of the organizing committee, Rafael Hernández, said that on Saturday there will be a 3.8 km route, that starts in open sea, and is set to reach Playa Caracol. While on Sunday, the main event will take place when swimmers will make the crossing from Cancun to Isla Mujeres, in a 10-kilometer route, from Playa Caracol to the Beach Club of Caribbean Carnival, in Isla Mujeres.
He also announced that, a few days after the tests, participants from 24 states of Mexico are already registered, as well as competitors from the United States, Argentina, Canada, Guatemala, Brazil, Costa Rica, Chile, Germany, United Kingdom, Australia, Panama, Martinique and Colombia.
One of the main attractions of the competition this year is the presence of the international swimmer Nora Toledano, who will provide clinics for the participants during the two days the event lasts.
