Tennis superstar Rafael Nadal practiced in Cozumel ahead of Acapulco tournament

The 2017 Abierto Mexicano Telcel is a professional tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts.

The 24nd edition of this men’s tournament (and 17th for the women), starts today, Monday Feb. 27.  This championship is part of the 2017 ATP World Tour and the 2017 WTA Tour.

Considered the undisputed most important event of its kind in Mexico, it takes place every year in Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico; and in 2017, the event starts on Monday February 27, and the final match will be played on Sunday March 5, at the “Mundo Imperial Acapulco Princess”.

This year, two of the best players in the world will be participating in the “Abierto Mexicano de Tennis”, we are talking about Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal.

And as it happens every year since 2013 during the month of February, Rafael Nadal spent some relaxing days in Cozumel, Mexico, for a short holiday where he also practiced for two or three hours per day on the courts of the luxurious resort ‘Secrets Aura’, where he can be away from media and fans.

Still, a few lucky ones were lucky enough to watch the Spaniard champion practicing a few days ago.

On Friday Feb. 24, Rafa traveled to Acapulco where on Tuesday Feb. 28, he will play his first round match.
