That Committee is part of the new federal security strategy announced by the President, which involves daily meetings throughout the country to assess the situation in each and every state.

With regard to these daily safety reports that will be sent to the Federation, the governor said that there are several working groups in which reports are already being submitted.

And he stated that these reports that correspond to the 266 regions in which the country is divided will be done in conjunction with the Federal, State and Municipal governments in each region. The governor added that the security strategy proposed by the federal government is very similar to that of the state of Quintana Roo.

He also stressed that they have been collaborating with what is now the National Guard for a couple of months.

“We have been working to achieve peace and tranquility; We expect results soon, “said Carlos Joaquín.

In addition, he said he expects a lot of joint work, because the relationship during the transition was very close with many members of the new cabinet.

The installation of the State Security Committee will be the first formal test of the relationship that will exist between the governor and the “superdelegado” a new position installed by the federal government in each one of the 32 states. In the case of Quintana Roo, Arturo Abreu is the “superdelegado“.

It is worth mentioning that 12 governors of the PAN, among them Carlos Joaquín, publicly criticized days ago the function and efficiency of the “superdelegados” that have been installed by the federal government to monitor the state governments’ work.
