Social networks, the best place to book Playa del Carmen!
“Set it and forget it.”
That’s the goal of Playa Hotels & Resorts’ new automated social media program for travel agents, Travel Tuesdays.
Social media has become one of the most frequent ways in which travel agents interact with customers and conduct business.
“I use social media on a regular basis to engage with my clients as well as with my tour operator and resort friends,” said Jay Islam, CEO of Grand Travel and Cruise. “It has been very effective for us. The more I am active on my social media accounts, the more real-time exposure I get. Clients gravitate to that.”
Playa wants to help agents develop and grow their social media presence, and the resort company is offering innovative solutions to help agents streamline their online engagement and give clients what they are looking for.
Agents can sign up for weekly Facebook posts published automatically featuring a destination or resort within the Playa collection. Participants have the option to select the content categories that they would like to appear.
For example, travel agents who sell only Mexico or only the Caribbean can have targeted information on those destinations show up. They can also select the types of properties and the Playa brands they would like to have featured.
“The program was built to be customizable to the agent so if they include their contact information within a ‘profile,’ a CTA can be included in the post on their behalf. The goal is to offer a soft sell approach to sharable content curation,” said Amy Zocchi, manager, social and public relations.
It’s no surprise that Playa has launched this new Travel Tuesdays program. A successful Wedding Wednesday program was launched two years ago with great success. The company reported that enrollments doubled within the past year.
“Since weddings are such a niche business, we’ve really leveraged Facebook as a means of visually displaying to potential brides (via a B2B2C approach) what their potential dream wedding could be,” said Zocchi.
The program is exactly what travel agents are looking for. Any agent who wants to boost their exposure or just streamline the amount of time they spend online can benefit from Travel Tuesdays.
“We are continually striving to broaden our social media reach,” said Jason Mills, business development and brand manager, Escapes.ca. “This is one of many reasons that Playa Resorts remain such a strong partner for Escapes.ca and the entire travel agent community.”
Playa is recognized as a leader in social media in the hotel and resort space.
“They are one of the most social media-savvy companies in our industry and dedicate themselves to providing us, the retail partners, with new and innovative ideas,” said Mills.
Agents also appreciate the innovation.
“By giving us new and exciting tools to streamline our internal processes they are making it easier than ever for us to offer our clients the best products in the industry,” said Mills.
Agents can visit Playa’s travel agent portal to sign up. The site is directly connected to the Customized Marketing Center where they can enroll.
