Significant economic impact expected in Cozumel on July 4
Of the 29 cruises scheduled to arrive at the international port terminals of the state of Quintana Roo from July 2 to 8, a total of 21 will make a stopover at Cozumel, the island of swallows.
Based on the program of the Integral Port Administration of Quintana Roo (Apiqroo) it is obsered that the best day for tourism on that period will be Wednesday July 4 with the arrival of five ocean liners.
On the United States Iindependence Day tourism service providers expect a good economic spill, according to a survey conducted by city hall officials.
The estimate numer of tourists expected to descend from the cruises in Cozumel from Monday July 2 thru Saturday, July 7, is 75,651.

Taking into account the maximum capacity of these floating hotels, it is known that on the fourth of July, 21,330 people will descend from the five ships that are expected for that day. This means that only on that day 28.2% of the total visitors for the whole week, will make a stopover in Cozumel.
The second best date is July 6, the day on which cruisers are expected to arrive with 13,981 passengers, which represents an 18.4 % of the total visitors.
The third date considered to be the highest of the period is marked for July 5 with the arrival of only three cruisers but with an estimated 13,200 passengers, without counting the crew members that will end up representing 17.4% of the total number of visitors for week number 27, out of the 53 weeks of this year.
