Vision: As the foremost English language online newspaper in the Yucatan Peninsula, we will ultimately grow our business model to the level of franchise targeting Mexican cities with a high concentrationof English-speaking expatriate community . As of March 2016 we have launched San Miguel Times new online newspaper.

HISTORY OF THE YUCATAN TIMES
The online newspaper The Yucatan Times began operations on December 4, 2010, created by Mr. Raul Curmina Ponce de León and his wife Silvia as an English language news website with weekly updates. So it remained for 2 ½ years, when a group of investors decided to purchase the online newspaper. On September 15th 2013, The Yucatan Times begins a new era, appointing a Content Manager to lead a team of editors, updating the site on a daily basis, implementing a Social Media strategy and designating an Editorial Board consisting of prominent members of the Expatriate Community in Merida, installing its offices on the legendary Paseo de Montejo Avenue.
Currently, The Yucatan Times is an online newspaper that targets the English-speaking community in the Yucatan Peninsula, the rest of Mexico, as well as English speakers around the world who are looking at the Yucatan region as their next travel destination or place of residence. The Yucatan Times publishes the most important regional, national and international news of relevance to its readers.

Parker Asmann is a Chicago based journalist and a 2015 graduate of DePaul University with degrees in Journalism and Spanish, along with a minor in Latin American & Latino Studies. He is currently an Editorial Board Member for a bilingual Chicago based publication, El BeiSMan, where he focuses on issues of social justice and human rights. Parker has lived and studied in Mérida, Yucatán.

Allan Wall is an educator that resided in Mexico for many years. He currently writes for several websites. Topics in his articles include the contemporary Mexican political scene, history, culture, tourism, and Mexican emigration as viewed from south of the border.

Nicholas Lavroff Started writing software reviews in 1984 while waiting for clients to walk in the door of his little neighborhood law office. Since then he has written two books and 30+ articles on computers and computer games, and produced 20 games for various software publishers, including Electronic Arts, Activision, and Sega. While at Sega he served as Editor-in-Chief of Sega Visions magazine, with a readership in excess of one million readers. He retired to Merida in 2005, but now finds himself busier than ever.
Robert D. Temple, PhD, is the author of the award-winning book Edge Effects and numerous magazine articles, mostly dealing with matters of local history. He lives in Yucatán, Ohio, and Virginia. Some of these articles appeared in slightly different form, under the title “Tales of the Mayab,” in an anthology published by the Mérida English Language Library in 2013.
Dr. José Enrique Guerra Ailloud: The Yucatan Times Medical Tourism Advisor. Owner and Manager of the Clinica Laboral Peninsular, a clinic that provides health treatment to companies, medical evaluations, physical therapy and other services. Since 2009, Clínica Laboral Peninsular provides medical services to more than 30 companies with a medical staff of 15 doctors from 6 different specialties.
Marina Urioste is currently a student. Reading, writing and photography are some of her many passions, also music, universal history and animals. She has won a short story writing contest, and is currently working on more. She lives in Merida, and aspires to travel the world sometime in the near future and write about it.

Born in Europe, raised in the Middle East, and a long-time resident in the Americas, including the last 3 years in Merida, Stewart has worked worldwide in the travel, tourism and transportation industries for well over 20 years.

He has been working professionally in Mexico since 1995, and in 2011 he was the first person to ever attain a new nationally regulated Real Estate degree and professional identification number for the Country of Mexico.
In 2009 he was voted Realtor of the year, because of his professionalism, attention to customers and knowledge of procedures and the market. Also, he has been active in the real estate community serving on the real estate association’s Honor and Justice Committee.
