Quintana Roo kicked off “Operation Guadalupe-Reyes 2018-2019”
The State Coordinator of Civil Protection (COEPROC), Adrián Martínez Ortega, said on Wednesday Dec. 12 that the Guadalupe Reyes 2018 operation started in Quintana Roo, with the participation of emergency agencies and bodies that are looking for provide more and better security on the roads to vacationers tht visit Cancun, Playa, Tulum, Chetumal and the municipality of Bacalar, .
The participating Corps in this statewide operation are: the Municipal Police and the 11 municipal Civil Protection directorates, the State Preventive Police and Federal Police, Fire Fighters, Civil Protection of the State, the Secretariat of National Defense, Secretariat of the Navy and Emergency Corps.

Operation Guadalupe Reyes began on Wednesday, December 5 and is scheduled to end on January 6, 2019, this with the aim of ensuring the safety of people who travel the roads of Quintana Roo by car.
“The objective is to reinforce the security during the holiday season, as many travel with the family, so it is very important to implement the operation so that those who travel safely reach their destinations on these important dates , so do not combine alcohol with the steering wheel, since it is a bad combination and poor decision, and if drink, better apply the designated driver program” the official said.
Martínez Ortega recommended to the public that if they are going to go on a trip, check the conditions of their vehicle, have a spare tire and the necessary tools that they could need in case of an unexpected incident. Never drive tires or under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and if they go to the beach, watch their children at all times, because a tragedy can occur in just a few seconds.
