The International Tourism Fair is an event of great importance in terms of tourism promotion attended by professionals from the industry from all over the world and is, at the same time, the leading fair for the receptive and issuing markets of Ibero-America.

Puerto Morelos aroused the interest of European markets during FITUR, which takes place in the city of Madrid, thanks to the wide range of experiences it offers, informed the municipal president Blanca Merari, who heads the municipality’s delegation at the event.

The mayoress highlighted that the German market was captivated by the adventure tourism of the cenotes route, where ecotourism parks are located that offer fun and contact with nature.

The destination will promote the tourist attractions divided into four segments:

• Nautical sector
• Hotel infrastructure
• Ruta de los Cenotes
• Gastronomy

In addition to the fact that, for the first time, the distinctive “Made in Puerto Morelos” will be presented, which will strengthen, not only the identity of Puerto Morelos, but also to the artisanal sector, since having an additional seal on the products they make will boost their businesses and this will be reflected in more resources for the benefit of local families.
