Passenger Ferry Ticket Prices Go Up
The price of tickets for passenger ferries on the route Cozumel/ Playa del Carmen increased on Jan. 1 2017; due to the increase on the price of diesel.
The rates increase by the same percentage as fuel increased because “it is materially impossible for prices to remain stationary.” announced a spokesperson from Ultramar.
The island is separated from the mainland of the State by a channel of water of 18 kilometers in length and the travel time of the boats is 30 to 40 minutes. The three ticket sale booths at the San Miguel Pier show their list of visible rates in pesos and dollars in which they reflect the amount for one way and round trips for locals and visitors.
