Mexican tourist photo holding starfish in Cozumel causes anger on social networks
A Mexican tourist posted on social networks his own photo holding a starfish in Cozumel, at Playa El Cielo to be precise (a place known worldwide for the large number of starfish that can be found there).
According to specialists, these animals are very delicate and fragile, and obviously they die almost instatntly as they are removed from their natural habitat. Besides, it is global rule for all scuba divers and snorkelers, not to touch anything underwater, and of course it is absolutely forbidden to grab a starfish, coral, crab or any other living organism, and take it out of the ocean.

Social network users showed their anger at this young man, that either for ignorance or stupidity decided to grab a starfish, take it out of the sea (killing it obviously), and post his own photo holding the dead animal in his hand with a group of friends.
This event occurs while the National Commission of Protected Natural Areas (Conanp) analyzes the possible closure of El Cielo, to avoid this type of damage to the local fauna. Several internauts highlighted that this type of actions will force the federal agency to close down the access to this beach.
