Mexican Navy seeks for boat missing for 8 days near the Cozumel coast

The Mexican Navy has carried out naval operations, with the aim of locating the yacht-type vessel called “Moi Guadalupe” with four crew members.

Elements of the Naval Sector of Cozumel of the Secretariat of the Navy-Navy of Mexico (Semar), are searching by air and sea for four people who have been missing on the coast of Cozumel since last September 30.

According to the information available to date, Semar has carried out naval operations, with the aim of locating the yacht-type vessel named “Moi Guadalupe” with four crew members on board, whose last known position was approximately 130 nautical miles (241 kilometers) east of the Island of Cozumel.

For this operation, the Mexican Navy is using Defender-type vessels from the Naval Search, Rescue, and Maritime Surveillance Station (ENSAR), Interceptor-type patrol boats, as well as a Persuader-type aircraft designed to carry out search operations.

The search is carried out with the report that was received in the Naval Sector of Cozumel land through simulation programs of winds and marine currents in the region, for which it is estimated that the yacht “Moi Guadalupe” of 83 feet in length, white color, Hatteras brand, could have an estimated position off the coast of Quintana Roo between Cozumel and Puerto Juárez.

At the moment, this search for fourth people at sea has the status of suspended, which does not mean that the search for them is stopped.
