Manta rays caught on video in Holbox during lockdown (VIDEO)

Due to the absence of tourists on the beaches of the Yucatan Peninsula, as a measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19, a local resident caught on video a pair of manta rays swimming off the coast of Punta Cocos, on the island of Holbox.

In a video posted on social networks, the pair of majestic animals are seen advancing near the coast.

Although manta rays have presence in the Mexican Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico, throughout the year, they can hardly be seen by the large number of people who visit the beaches.

During the COVID-19 quarantine in Mexico, users have captured the sight of various animals off the Mexican coasts; recently a user caught on video a whale, jumping in the Acapulco bay (which is totally unusual for that tourist destination).
