TULUM Q Roo.-Pedro Beytia, aka “King Mojitos”, managed to surpass the record of four thousand liters of this drink last Saturday October 21, and is in the process of being registered before the Guiness World Records organization in New York.

Beytia says he has fulfilled all the regulations necessary, and stated that this is a record for the town of Tulum, as a tourist destination since it reached 4,348 liters.

This new record was expected to be broken last October 14, but it was not possible for technical issues. Nevertheless, Beytia gave it another shot one week later and concluded the whole process around 5 AM on Sunday 22. Despite the constant rainfall, many people came to witness this event that had to be carried out inside a Tulum Avenue establishment since there were no permits to carry it out on a public space.

“Many people anonymously participated in this project and I want to thank them all”, Beytia said.

He said that this process had to be settled before a notary public so that it could be taken into account by the Guiness World Records organization.

Pedro Beytia, “King Mojitos” concluded: “the world record only needs to be registered since all the requirements were met”.
