Japanese national detained in Playa del Carmen with marijuana baggies
PLAYA DEL CARMEN, MX.- Police officers from the Ministry of Public Security and Municipal Traffic detained a Japanese national with eight bags and a container with marijuana, during the permanent surveillance operation in the Centro neighborhood.
When patrolling on First Street with 10th Avenue, this morning, the officers observed a person standing next to a bicycle, who kept a bag with a green herb which turned out to be marijuana in a backpack, so, upon approaching him, the individual tried to run away.

In a quick action, the agents blocked his way and when carrying out a security inspection of who identified himself as Wakahara “N”, 37 years old, originally from Japan, they found eight bags with marijuana among his belongings. , a container with the substance and a bag with seeds.
After informing him of the rights that assist him, the subject was insured and transferred to the corporation to be assessed by the doctor on duty and made available to the State Attorney General’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes.
