Isla Mujeres’ Playa Norte number ten in the world according to Trip Advisor

The prestigious and influential U.S. based travel website Trip Advisor, places Isla Mujeres’ North Beach, as number  ten in its list of the 25 most popular beaches in the world for 2018.

By announcing this list and the “Travelers Choice Award 2018” to the most popular beach destinations on the planet in the year that is about to conclude, trip advisor, in its Mexican version (, pointed out that based on the opinions of visitors, the most popular beach in the Caribbean area is Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos Islands.

In turn, Isla Mujeres’ North Beach, was voted the tenth most popular in the world, surpassing others in Europe, Africa, Australia and countries such as Cyprus, Greece, India, Costa Rica, Tanzania, Ecuador and Italy, among others.

Playa Norte, according to Trip Advisor, has 6,869 opinions, of which 75 percent are excellent, 18 percent are very good, 5 percent regular, and 1 percent bad.

The site, as a summary, defines the island beach of Quintana Roo as one of “Beautiful Turquoise Waters, with pure and fine white sand”.

“The water is so blue that it dulls the sky,” added in its review of Playa Norte, concluding: “The best time to go: All year.”

The review also mentions that the Quintana Roo destination has 41 hotels, 40 “Bed and Breakfast” or hostels, in addition to 103 vacation rental sites.

Trip Advisor was founded in the United States in the year 2000 and gained populartiy for the comments of travelers who little by little displaced the contents of its creators, until becoming a world reference in the industry.

Currently, is located on site 248 of all the websites of the world, in the ranking of the firm Alexa, a website that analyzes and for the advice given to companies worldwide.
