Hotel with native concept will open in March in the Riviera Maya

PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Q. Roo.- Hotel Unico 20˚87˚ Riviera will open in March 2017 with a new luxury “all inclusive” concept, designed to reflect the beauty of Playa Carmen and its native culture.

The design of the Hotel features a combination of rustic and modern elements of Mexico, and each room is inspired by the destination, from the art hanging on the wall to the design patterns and details, according to a statement.

Designed by Mexican renowned architecture firm Artigas and conceptualized by Avroko’s interior design company, the hotel has a total of 448 rooms, most of which have an ocean view. The first-floor bedrooms have a private pool with sun loungers. From the second floor to the fifth, they have hydro massage tubs on the balconies.

Guests can make use of the “Unico 20˚87˚ Experience” app that will provide information about weekly activities. Likewise, they will be able to personalize certain amenities of the room, like  essences and aromas, minbar supply with products of their preference so guests can prepare their own favorite cocktails.

“Unico 20˚87˚Riviera Maya will completely change the preconceived ideas and expectations of what an all-inclusive offers its guests,” explains Bernardo Santillana Rousselon, Commercial-National Director of RCD Hotels.

Activities

Inside the hotel, activities inspired by local culture will include cooking classes taught by renowned chefs, Mezcal tastings, visit to a Mayan village, pibil-style barbecues and beach parties under the moonlight.

Guests will be able to purchase the pieces exhibited by local artists in their rooms or around the hotel at the arts and crafts boutique, located in “Espacio Esencia” area.

The venue also features three swimming pools, a convention center for congresses and weddings, tennis and basketball courts, a gymnasium that offers specialized classes with personal trainers, a beauty salon and a barber shop, where the guests can enjoy a good haircut accompanied by their favorite selection of cocktails, whiskey or beers.
