“Sian Ka’an is one of the most spectacular and ecologically diverse places on earth – and we want to keep it that way.”

Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve features an ecotourism and education center, it serves as a model for sustainable development in sensitive tropical ecosystems. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the third largest natural protected area in Mexico.
WHAT IS THE SIAN KA’AN BIOSPHERE RESERVE?
A sublime area of natural beauty, Sian Ka’an is home to thousands of species of flora and fauna, which is why the region became a designated Biosphere Reserve in 1986. A year later, Sian Ka’an was declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO and it remains the largest protected area in the Mexican Caribbean.
Possibly the most astonishing part of the Yucatan Peninsula, it is located 2 hours south of Cancun near Tulum.
Most people traveling to the Riviera Maya only have in mind an “all inclusive” resort, where they can spend all day and night eating and drinking.
Now, the people that chooses Tulum as a vacation destination are in a different state of mind, their vibe is more relaxed, and they are seeking a pleasant time on a white sandy beach, near the Mayan Ruins.
