Cozumel is working to address the Alert on Gender Violence against Women
Mayor Pedro Joaquin, stated that, with concrete actions, Cozumel is working to address the Alert on Gender Violence against Women (AVGM) that was issued on July 7, 2017, by the National Commission to Prevent and Eradicate Violence against Women (Conavim).
He pointed out that during the 2018-2021 administration, a life free of violence and discrimination in both social and institutional spheres was promoted, in order to shape the Cozumel society with strong foundations and family values.
The Municipal President stressed that, in the current administration, equity, civic and human values, are of utmost importance to be promoted by officials of the different government agencies and thereby generate results that are reflected in a better quality of life for the civil society.
The differences we have, should always enrich us, taking into account that respect is the most important value of all, and we must always remain united as a family: Pedro Joaquin said.
Pedro Joaquín, indicated that as a government it is their responsibility to promote favorable environments free of violence, under the criteria of Human Rights.
