Cancún mantains “Blue Flag”

On November 5, the new “Blue Flag” will be available on the beaches of Cancun, so it will be ready by the end of the year, when the Mexican Caribbean resort will receive thousands of tourists for the November – December season, with clean, certified beaches.

“The Blue Flag certifications has never been withdrawn from Cancún, Quintana Roo”, pointed out the ZOFEMAT Directorate, to tackle the versions that have begun to circulate on social networks and in some media.

“We are in communication with Joaquín Arturo Díaz Ríos, of the Executive Coordinator of Foundations for Environmental Education (FEE), the exclusive operator of Blue Flag Mexico. They have confirmed that our beaches are still certified and that, following the administrative procedure that began with the current municipal government, on November 5 we will have the formal lifting event, with the participation of the new administration headed by Mara Lezama. ”

ZOFEMAT stressed that, in compliance with international protocols, it is required to present the information that guarantees fulfillment of the 33 requirements established by FEE.
