Days ago, the state’s governor, Carlos Joaquín González, estimated that it could have up to one million visitors in total, between national and international.

Quintana Roo has some 93,498 hotel rooms in operation, and for the strongest days of Easter, hotel reservations are held at 100 percent in Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Isla Mujeres, Riviera Maya, Tulum, the islands of Cozumel, Holbox and Isla Mujeres, as well as in the Riviera Maya, Mahahual, Bacalar and Chetumal. Both the Riviera Maya and Cancun are the most visited, and this impacts in a positive way for the state, by allowing the creation of at least 20 thousand temporary jobs.

The average daily money spend of national visitors is 585 pesos, which translates directly into 585 million pesos, although that could reach up to 1.4 billion pesos in just two weeks.

Likewise, he said that 90 thousand visitors are contemplated to arrive from cruises, the bus stations will increase up to 30 percent their runs and the Cancun International Airport will maintain days with more than 450 operations.
