The Delegation of the Public Registry of Property and Commerce in the municipality of Benito Juárez seized 22 properties in the name of María Rosa Yolanda Angulo Castilla, mother of the former governor of Quintana Roo, Roberto Borge, imprisoned in a federal prison in the Mexican state of Morelos, accused of corruption.

The foregoing, by order of a Control Judge of the entity, who on March 15 2018 notified, through official letter 1576/2018, the precautionary measure to the Secretary of Finance of the state.

Through a notification dated April 4, the state agency responded to the courts of Control and Courts of First Instance Criminal Trial of the Judicial District of Chetumal that “registration of the embargo was carried out” in the corresponding properties located in Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Cozumel.

Among the properties insured, the one identified with folio number 88749 stands out, in which a “Purchase and Sale with Domain Reservation according to public deed number 98, 024 dated October 4, 2017, passed before Notary Public No. 30 of the state, was registered. in favor of “The Elements Condos” Civil Association; however, given the reservation of the domain in favor of C. Rosa Yolanda Angulo Castilla (Borge’s mother), the required seizure was carried out.

In order to demonstrate such registration, the Public Registry appended a certified copy of the registration forms.

The embargo was decreed with respect to the properties identified with electronic pages 55561 of the Delegation of the Public Registry of Property and Commerce in Benito Juárez; as well as 88749, in the municipality of Solidaridad (Playa del Carmen); and in the 20 located in Cozumel.

The PGR, through the Special Prosecutor’s Office for the Investigation of Organized Crime (SEIDO), stated that this precautionary measure was decreed by the Public Ministry of the Federation as part of the investigation file initiated by the criminal complaint filed by the Legal Department of Quintana Roo, in which this department stated that between 2011-2014, Borge sold multiple property of the government of Quintana Roo to relatives and front men.

Therefore, the Federal Public Ministry ordered the facts investigation, with which it was possible to provisionally conclude the existence of irregularities in the process of alienation of the real estate and besides, it was corroborated that the properties were sold at 6% of its commercial value.
