(Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo, February 28, 2017) .- The good organization and great participation of people in the parades, troupes and other activities that were carried out in the municipal esplanade on the occasion of the Carnival Isla Mujeres 2017 , made possible one of the best carnivals in years.

About 19 troupes spread joy and happiness among the people, using the streets of the island as the perfect stage for the presentation of colorful dances and songs that made everyone cheer.

Therefore, the municipal president, Juan Carrillo Soberanis who along with his wife Mrs. Paola Orrico de Carrillo participated actively in this tradition, emphasized that the carnival had a great convening power thanks to the involvement of the citizens of the island in the organization of diverse activities held before, during and after the celebration.

“The islanders live their carnival, it is a tradition of many years, with cultural roots and identity, that is why every year we await this celebration with enthusiasm to enjoy it with friends and family” – said the mayor.

He also thanked the citizens who participated in the troupes as well as the spectators, who made this festive atmosphere possible. He stated that achieving successful events like this benefits all the residents of Isla Mujeres because of the great economic impact generated and the good image given to the visitors.
